Landon turned one on May 4th, and we had an awesome party for him at our house. Tons of our family & friends came and we had a great time! We had farm animal themed party and it turned out so cute! Below are a few pics from Landon's 1st birthday party!
This was my sister's awesome idea... everyone that attended the birthday party signed the picture frame!

The doctor gave us the ok for Landon to start eating meat and drinking whole milk. We began weaning him off of his formula a couple of days after his doctor's appointment. He is now officially NOT on formula at all, and he only takes a bottle at bedtime. My plans are to wean him off of the bottle this summer while I'm not working. We'll see how that goes!
I am not going to post stats that Landon was doing both at 12 and 13 months old because, to be quite honest, since I didn't do a 12 month post everything from these 2 months is running together. So here are some things Landon is currently doing/saying:
*He LOVES apple juice. Seriously. I think I could put a straw in a gallon of apple juice and he would literally suck it dry by the end of the day. He snacks on juice and water throughout the day, and drinks whole milk at meal times.
*He is eating pretty much what we eat at meal time. For breakfast he has half of a pancake, oatmeal, or half of a pop tart. For lunch & supper he eats whatever we are having. For example, today I had Mexican with my mom & sister. Landon ate rice & cheese and refried beans. He loved them! For supper we had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, and rolls. Landon ate all of that. He probably ate more tonight than I have ever seen him eat at one time.
*He is almost running now. He usually still walks around but he is slowly but surely getting faster and beginning to look as if he is running!
*Landon LOVES to be outside. This, of course, thrills TJ to death! Landon likes to ride in his wagon, get in the pool, and swing. He would literally stay outside ALL day long if I would let him. I like that he wants to be outdoors, but in this heat it's just not safe for him (or me for that matter) to be outside as much as he wants to be. We come in & out, or play in the water to help matters.
*Landon is saying: Mama, Daddy, Toto, thank you, bye, hey there, hey, juice, Jen Jen, Poppa, no, paci and most recently, diaper & caterpillar. I assume he will begin saying new words all the time now and I love it! He is so much fun at this age!!
*He loves to read his books. He will pick a book and bring it to TJ or me and climb up in our laps so we'll read to him. Sometimes he will take a book and sit down and "read" to himself. He points at all the pictures and "reads." He loves The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We can ask him "Landon where's the egg?" (It's on the leaf on the first page) and he will point to it. We can also ask him, "Landon, where's the caterpillar?" and he will pick a page and point to it.
*You can also ask him where his paci is and he will find it. At bath time, you can ask him to find rubber duckie amongst all of his bath toys and he will point to it or pick it up. Basically, you can ask him to find many different things and he will point to them or go pick them up and bring them to you.
On a side note, I said earlier that I had been so busy the past month and hadn't had time to post anything. Well, for those of you that teach school, you know exactly what I mean. The last month of school is just about insane! There are so many last minute things to get done before the end of the year, and interruptions such as assemblies, programs, etc. I had a good little class this year and I am going to miss them so much! I can't believe they are already 2nd graders!! I also had AWESOME parent help this year too. The parents of my kiddos were absolutely incredible and I appreciate all of their help so very much! However, as much as I loved my kiddos and their parents, I am glad to be out of school for summer and spending much needed time with my sweet boy! I am excited about my upcoming group of 1st graders too. I have heard wonderful things about this upcoming class and look forward to teaching the group that I will have!
I promise I will try and do better on my posts from now on. Things are calming down now and I am so excited to have some time off from work to spend with my family and friends.
